On Thursday, Barcelona manager Xavi will take on Manchester United in the Europa League at Camp Nou. The Red Devils had attempted to acquire Dutch midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, last summer, however, the Catalan club was able to keep him. Xavi believes de Jong was clear he wanted to stay with Barcelona and is currently playing some of his best football.

Both teams have been in great form lately, with Barcelona unbeaten in 15 games in all competitions and Manchester United only having lost once in 15 matches since the season resumed. Xavi is full of praise for United manager Erik ten Hag and his attack-minded approach to the game. He believes that Ten Hag has done a remarkable job turning United back into challengers again and finds his style to be a “reference point” he takes inspiration from.

The match between Barcelona and Manchester United is set to be an exciting one and is sure to be watched by many neutral football fans.
