Yesterday, Lauren Westerman spoke out from her family home about her husband Joe Westerman’s scandalous video. A video on Twitter showed him performing a ‘sex act’ on another woman down an alleyway, which caused a public apology from Joe. Lauren said she felt “physically sick” when seeing the video and was glad it had been seen before she kissed him again. She said there are “no excuses” for his actions, not only to her but to their three children and wider family.
Lauren confirmed that Joe had confessed the following day after the video had gone viral on Twitter. She also said that the woman in the video is a friend’s partner and expressed her sympathy for her children, as they will have to see the memes of their mother sweeping the internet. Lauren made it clear that their marriage is “one trillion per cent finished”, and also mentioned that Joe had been issued with a “substantial fine” by his club.
Joe had issued a public apology through the club, stating his realisation that he needs to work on his decision-making around alcohol. Castleford Tigers also said they would continue to support Joe and his family throughout this difficult time. Joe had started his career with Castleford Tigers back in 2007, returning again in 2022.
