Pharmacy teams can now refer adults living with obesity, and other conditions, to a twelve-week online NHS weight management programme which they can start within 10 days of visiting their local pharmacy.

Three in five adults in England are overweight, with more than one in four living with obesity.

Marc Howells CEO at Goodbody Health said:

“The NHS are working with the local high street pharmacy to help the local community in managing their lifestyle. This new initiative is key in tackling the rising levels of obesity and type 2 diabetes.
