Vipera Plc (LON:VIP) Chief Financial Officer Martin Perrin caught up with DirectorsTalk for an exclusive interview to discuss their agreement with the Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade (“Al Masraf”)

Q1: Now, you’ve announced this morning that you’ve entered into an agreement with the Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade, can you say more about what the customer has bought from Vipera Plc?

A1: Indeed. The key thing that we’re providing to this bank is the core mobile banking system using our Motif platform, albeit it for them we’re adding an extra utility bill payment functionality. Just to recap, our Motif platform is actually designed to support a range of features which we can offer separately or all together to a bank.

Q2: Is this a material order for you?

A2: I would describe it as a useful building block in achieving our revenue target for 2017. In addition, it is always good to win a new bank because this often leads, in due course, to further business in the form of adding additional functionality. So, with this particular bank, we can indeed already see a road map to us providing them with further features.

Q3: How is business in the Middle East?

A3: Well, at the moment Middle East banks are beginning to utilise the cost benefit that mobile banking can give them and in addition, they can be enthusiastic early adopters of new products or services which we develop. So, right now, Vipera is having to plan how to bolster our presence and deliver resources in the Middle East.
