Versarien PLC (LON:VRS) Chief Executive Officer Neill Ricketts caught up with DirectorsTalk for an exclusive interview to discuss the Nanene distribution agreement with Lansdowne Chemicals, their strong distribution channel and plans for Nanene over the coming months
Q1: We spoke last week about the launch of your new graphene brand, Nanene, and a week later you announced the distribution agreement for the product. So, first off, congratulations on the quick work but Neill could you explain the background to the deal with Lansdowne Chemicals and its significance?
A1: So, we’ve known Lansdowne Chemicals for a while, we have been working with them to explore the possibilities of graphene and what graphene may do to some of their specific chemicals that they operate with. They’re very enthusiastic given the independent test data that we’ve already received for the University of Manchester, that gives them a huge amount of confidence and naturally they want to talk the customers that they’re already dealing with about how they can get a fairly unique position using this brand-new material in some of their established chemicals.
Q2: Lansdowne Energy have a strong distribution channel, particularly in Europe, how do you expect them to leverage this?
A2: It’s great for us as a small business, we’re challenged with the amount of enquires and the bandwidth that we’ve currently got. Lansdowne have not only got their own resources but they’re part of a German group called Overlack and as part of that we obviously get access to that as well. There’s a big chemical show coming up soon and the intention is we’ll be alongside or our products will be alongside what’s happening with the main group so it’s phenomenal for us as a small business to have this opportunity to work with Lansdowne and to be able to pull on all their resources that they might have across not only Europe but the US and the Far East as well.
Q3: So, what additional plans do Versarien PLC have for Nanene over the coming months?
A3: So, obviously as you mentioned earlier, we only launched Nanene last week, we’ve had a huge amount of response and that means that we’re getting a very active plan at the moment. As I said in the press release yesterday, the real job now is to getting this to as many people as possible, getting this advertised, getting people talking about it across the whole world. That’s a big job and we’ll be working hard with our partners to not only establish bases but also to be able to get the product to as many customers as we can.
