Creschic Loadbanks has supplied BT with a state-of-the-art 600kw loadbank trailer set. Already a Cresthic customer, the purchase reinforces the telecommunications giant’s commitment to regular testing of its UPS and generator systems.

As is one of the world’s leading providers of communications services and solutions, serving customers in 180 countries, power resilience is a major issue for BT. Its principal activities include the provision of networked IT services globally; local, national and international telecommunications services; broadband, TV and internet products and services; and converged fixed-mobile products and services – all of which are reliant on continuity in their power supply to drive a complex network of data transmission and electronic systems.

Paul Bickman, sales and marketing manager at Crestchic, explains: “We’re extremely pleased to be BT’s manufacturer of choice for the replacement of their loadbanks. As a longstanding customer of ours, BT is already familiar with the reliability and state-of-the-art performance benefits of Crestchic products and this is reflected in them returning to us for their latest order, following the replacement  of 57 units last year.”

“The purchase came just prior to BT’s launch of their new Keep Connected TV campaign, which sees a lightning bolt knock out a family’s broadband connection. While the adverts use giant robots, warrior queens, a wizard, a gremlin and a pair of ogres to tell the story in a light-hearted way, the fact is that a power outage would be a disaster for BT and their customers. Crestchic loadbanks help to protect against downtime by fully testing their UPS and backup systems.”

The trailer-mounted loadbanks used by BT are the latest addition to Crestchic’s comprehensive portfolio of frames and containers. With a need to transport the loadbanks between BT buildings and sites, as well as a requirement to handle a varied load, this containerised solution has proven the ideal solution for larger loadbanks required by BT.“

Northbridge Industrial Services (LON:NBI) has two core activities, Crestchic Loadbanks and Tasman Oil Tools. Crestchic is a specialist electrical equipment business which manufactures, sells and rents loadbanks and transformers from its base in Burton on Trent and has depots in France, Germany, Belgium, UAE and Singapore. Crestchic also has satellite locations in China and the USA.
