Strat Aero PLC (LON:AERO), an international aerospace company focused on the rapidly emerging Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (“UAV”) sector, is pleased to announce that it has secured a contract with ACAD Design and Surveys Ltd, a leading industrial and architectural design and survey company with a blue-chip client base including the Post Office, to provide a UAV survey in Aberdeen, Scotland. The contract was secured through Strat Aero’s wholly-owned subsidiary Geocurve, which is a specialist in providing survey and inspection services using UAVs, as well as using ground- and water-based survey equipment.
Geocurve has been awarded this contract to survey a vast parcel of land utilising its Extended Visual Line of Sight (EVLOS) permission from the Civil Aviation Authority. Geocurve will apply its extensive survey experience to capture all necessary data, 3D data and UAV imagery, to enable the design phase of a new multi mullion pound development. The initial contract is worth £35,000.
Gary Nel, Managing Director of Geocurve, said “We are delighted to have been awarded this contact and are keen to form a partnership with ACAD Design and Surveys Ltd on future larger contracts. The complexity of this survey showcases Geocurve’s expertise in the highly specialised UAV survey arena, with our senior pilot flying under EVLOS permission. It is this expertise which continues to generate business for us – both through existing contracts with major blue-chip companies and government agencies, and with new customers looking for UAV flight proficiency coupled with state-of-the-art analytics techniques.”
Paul Troup, director at ACAD Design and Surveys Ltd said, “We are constantly looking for ways to use new technology to serve our customers better. Geocurve’s UAV survey and data analytics are a great example of innovation that can help our customers.”
