PZ Cussons plc (LON: PZC) has announced that Paul Grimwood and Kirsty Bashforth will join the Board as Non-executive Directors with effect from 1 November 2019.

Paul Grimwood has held senior leadership positions at consumer product companies such as Nestle, Highland Distillers and Mars Inc. During a 19-year career with Nestle, Paul worked in many different markets and regions and across a broad range of product categories and has a wealth of experience in brand building and business optimisation in international markets. Most recently, he was Chairman and CEO of Nestle USA, retiring earlier this year as its Non-Executive Chairman. In 2018 Paul was appointed CBE in recognition of his contribution to the food industry both in the UK and internationally.

Kirsty Bashforth held a number of senior executive positions during a long career with BP, leading the strategic co-ordination of BP’s global B2B business and finishing her career as Global Head of Organisational Effectiveness. After retiring from BP in 2015, she founded QuayFive, which advises CEOs on change, organisational performance and leadership. She is a Non-executive Director of UK-listed Serco Group plc and Kier Group plc and of Diaverum, the global renal care provider. Kirsty is an experienced Remuneration Committee chair and it is proposed that she assume this role for the Company upon the retirement of Helen Owers next year.

The Company also announces that, for personal health reasons, Tamara Minick-Scokalo, Non-executive Director, will relinquish her responsibilities on the Board with immediate effect. She will remain on the Board but will not receive fees during her period of absence.

Caroline Silver, Chair of PZ Cussons, said:

“I am delighted to announce Paul’s and Kirsty’s appointment. They bring a wealth of experience which will be tremendously helpful to the Board as we execute our new Focus, Scale, Accelerate strategy. We wish Tamara well and look forward to her return to active involvement.”
