Powerhouse Energy Group (LON:PHE) has today announced that the Company’s G3-UHt ultra-high temperature gasification demonstration unit (the “Unit”) has cleared UK customs after a seven week journey from Brisbane, Australia, and has been delivered to its initial recommissioning site near Manchester.

Work will begin immediately on the recommissioning of the cornerstone of PowerHouse Energy’s Distributed Modular Gasification© system. Following this, the Unit will be delivered to the Thornton Science Park of The University of Chester where it will be sited for demonstration purposes.

The Company has finalised its initial two-year office lease at the Energy Centre at the Thornton Science Park making it the first official tenant of the Centre. PowerHouse will take occupancy on 3 April 2017.

As a first step in the recommissioning process, the Company has appointed the engineering firm, Engsolve Ltd (“Engsolve”), to assist in both the recommissioning and the complete and thorough engineering validation of the Unit’s capabilities.

David Ryan, PowerHouse Executive Director of Program Development says of Engsolve, “Having reviewed numerous examples of projects on which Engsolve were the principal external engineering team, I’ve had the opportunity to thoroughly evaluate their capabilities. They have presented a capable understanding of the demands of our G3-UHt Unit and the time demands of the project. Our intention is that they will be one of our key partners as we take the unit through the development cycle to full commerciality.”

Keith Allaun, Executive Chairman of Powerhouse Energy Group, commented, “This is a momentous occasion for the Company. Our team has been focused on the concept of Distributed Modular Gasification, with the G3-UHt Unit at the centre of our plans to participate in this burgeoning segment of the Waste-to-Energy industry, for over two years.”

“We now believe we can apply an economical, efficient, and environmentally rigorous solution to the waste and energy challenges facing our planet. Having spent nearly half a decade experimenting, reviewing, and revising our technology and engineering philosophy, we have designed, from first principals, the G3-UHt Unit. We believe Distributed Modular Gasification© will allow access to an economical, and environmentally sound, solution to land-fill diversion, low-cost distributed electrical generation, and distributed hydrogen production.”
