Antonio Muratore, a 54 year-old personal trainer from Milan, is often mistaken for Hollywood superstar Dwayne Johnson, more commonly known as The Rock. Antonio has gone so far as to get 50 tattoos on his arm in order to look more like the actor, and has said he doesn’t mind the attention, as it makes people happy.
Wherever Antonio goes, he is stopped for pictures with people who think he is the famous actor. Antonio said: “It was about ten years ago when a friend first told me I looked like the Rock. Over the years people started to stop and ask me for pictures wherever I would go.”
Antonio even says he sometimes plays along and pretends to be The Rock, and that it puts a smile on people’s faces. He has even said he would love to challenge The Rock to a boxing match, something his mother believes he could win.
The personal trainer admits he is a private person, but he enjoys the attention as it makes him feel lucky to look like someone so great. Antonio said: “When people call me as his name and recognise me as his double I feel happy I look like somebody great. When I’m feeling bad, just when someone says, ‘Hey look, it’s The Rock’ – and I am happy again.”
