Rangers midfielder Malik Tillman has been in excellent form recently and his manager Michael Beale is delighted. The on-loan Bayern Munich player scored in a controversial manner against Partick Thistle on Sunday, but Beale was quick to make the correct decision, allowing the Jags to score and make it 2-2, before Connor McAvoy’s own goal gave Rangers a 3-2 win.
Beale praised Tillman for his performances and said: “Since I have been here, I said I was excited to work with him. I think he is a fantastic young player and he has been terrific for the last few weeks, absolutely outstanding. I am glad that we collectively made the decision we did because I didn’t want to be sitting here talking about Malik Tillman in a different light. He was completely unaware. Malik deserves things said and written about him that are the right things because his effort is fantastic, his quality is fantastic.”
The 20-year-old USA international, who has played through all of Germany’s youth levels, is enjoying his time at Rangers and Beale described him as being a “joy to work with every single day”. Rangers have first option on Tillman if Bayern decide to sell him, with the German giants’ youth team boss Danny Galm also hinting that Tillman could be a future first-team player for them.
The Rangers midfielder is enjoying a successful spell in Scotland and is likely to grab more headlines for the right reasons in the future.
