Manchester United trained at their Carrington training base this morning before heading to Spain for the first leg of their Europa League play-off against Barcelona. However, the Red Devils will have to make do without Anthony Martial, Marcel Sabitzer, Antony and Scott McTominay, who all missed training.
Erik ten Hag had previously stated he didn’t expect Antony, Martial and McTominay to return for the game against Barcelona, and it appears that will be the case. Martial is struggling with a hip injury, Anthony has missed the last two games due to a leg issue, and McTomiany’s issue is unspecified but his absence is longer term. Sabitzer, a loan signing from Bayern Munich on deadline day, is suspended for Thursday’s game.
Casemiro trained with the team as he looks to return from missing the last two matches due to suspension, while Lisandro Martinez, who is also suspended for the trip to the Camp Nou, also trained. The winner of the two-legged Europa League play-off will progress to the knockout stages.
