Universe Group Plc (LON:UNG) CEO Jeremy Lewis joins DirectorsTalk to to provide a little more information on what make this leading developer and supplier of point of sale, payment and on-line loyalty systems so successful. Jeremy explains what the company does, talks about key markets and key customers, the highlights from the last six months, the development of the next generation of EPOS products and what it is that makes Universe products more attractive than its competitors.
Universe provides some of the world’s leading retailers with point of sale, payment and loyalty solutions. The Company’s solutions are based on its own proprietary software and are offered out of the cloud on a software as a service model with its data centres processing in excess of 5 billion transactions every year.
The company also announced yesterday, with immediate effect, the appointment of Andrew Blazye as Non-Executive Chairman of the Group. Andrew joined the Board in May 2015 as a Non-Executive Director.
Robert Goddard has decided to step down from his position as Non-Executive Chairman and Director, a position he held for six years, during which he was central to guiding the Group through its turnaround and subsequent growth. This will allow him to pursue other business interests.
Robert Goddard said: “It has been rewarding and enjoyable to have worked with Universe since 2011. During my tenure, we have refinanced, repositioned and reinvigorated the Group with a new management team. Our strong growth is testament to hard work by all, including our advisers, in a highly competitive market. The time is right for me to hand over the Chairmanship to Andrew whom I know is exactly what the Board needs.
I am proud of what has been achieved and leave a business that is much larger, stronger and healthier than when I joined. Stepping aside now as Chairman will allow me time to focus on my many other commitments. I wish all the Universe management, employees and customers every success for what is set be a very bright future.”
