Intertek Group appoints Andrew Martin as Chairman, to succeed Sir David Reid

Intertek Group plc (LON:ITRK) has announced that Andrew Martin will succeed Sir David Reid as Chairman of the Board on 1 January 2021. Sir David will retire as Chairman and non-executive director with effect from 31 December 2020 after serving on Intertek’s Board for nine years.

Andrew Martin joined the Board of Intertek as an independent non-executive director on 26 May 2016. Andrew is currently non-excutive chairman of Hays plc and and a non-executive director of the John Lewis Partnership, and was previously a non-executive director of easyjet plc. Andrew is a qualified accountant and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Upon being appointed Chairman, Andrew Martin will chair the Nomination Committee, step down as Chair of the Audit Committee and cease to be a member of the Remuneration Committee. Jean-Michel Valette will be appointed Chair of the Audit Committee with effect from 1 January 2021.

Additional information

In accordance with section 430 (2B) of the Companies Act 2006, Intertek Group confirms that no remuneration payment will be made by Intertek to Sir David Reid after he ceases to be Chairman and non-executive director of the Company, nor will any payment for loss of office be made.
