HgCapital Trust plc (LON:HGT) has announced that Ms Helena Coles will join the Board on 21 November 2023.
Helena has over 20 years of investment experience, has considerable expertise in ESG, gained through the perspectives of an asset owner, asset manager, as well as UK regulator, and co-founded and built a successful fund management firm with peak AUM of over US$10bn.

Helena is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has been an investor in emerging markets and Asian equity for over 20 years. Throughout her career, Helena gained an extensive understanding of the financial markets and brings a wealth of experience in portfolio and asset management, asset allocation, and the investment process. In her previous roles, Helena has also focused on ESG at Fidelity International and banking supervision at the Bank of England.
Helena currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Shaftesbury Capital plc and served on the Board of Shaftesbury plc since 2021 until its merger with Capital & Counties Properties Plc in March 2023. Helena is also a Non-Executive Director of JPMorgan Emerging Markets Investment Trust Plc and a Non-Executive Director of Schroder Japan Trust Plc. She is the Independent Investment Advisor to the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.
Helena holds a BA Hons in Politics and Economics from Durham University.
On appointment to HgCapital Trust, Helena will join the Audit, Valuation & Risk Committee, the Nomination Committee and the Management Engagement Committee.
