Galliford Try plc (LONGFRD), the housebuilding, regeneration and construction group, announced that Peter Truscott has stepped down as Chief Executive and leaves the business with immediate effect.

The Board is pleased to announce that Graham Prothero, currently Group Finance Director, will succeed Peter as Chief Executive. Andrew Duxbury, currently Finance Director of Linden Homes and previously Group Financial Controller, will succeed Graham as Group Finance Director and joins the Board with immediate effect.

Peter Ventress, Chairman, said: “As a Board, we are pleased that our strategic succession planning has enabled us to make a smooth transition both for the role of CEO and that of Finance Director. We take succession planning very seriously and are delighted that our efforts in this area have paid off so well.

Graham has been a member of the Board since February 2013 and has contributed strongly to the strategic development of the company. He is well respected both within the business and externally by our investor base and other stakeholders.

Andrew joined the Group from PwC in 2012 and has held a number of senior finance positions since, including Group Financial Controller. He has a bright future as our new FD.

On behalf of the Board I congratulate Graham and Andrew on their new roles and thank Peter for his contribution to the Group. We wish him well in his new role.”

Peter Truscott said: “I have enjoyed my time with the Group. The company has a strong management team and a clear growth strategy against which it is making good progress. The decision to leave is a personal one and has been made so that I may pursue other opportunities.”

Graham Prothero said: “I’m excited to take on the role of leading Galliford Try through its next phase of growth and development, working with our talented teams to deliver for our clients, customers and investors. I’m particularly delighted to welcome Andrew as Group Finance Director, with his wealth of knowledge of the Group and our businesses. I look forward to working closely with him, the broader executive team and the rest of the Board as we continue to implement our strategy.”
