Non-Executive Director and Chairman for Flowtech Fluidpower plc (LON:FLO), Malcolm Diamond has been recognised at the prestigious 2018 Non-Executive Director Awards, winning the award in the FTSE AIM category.
The Non-Executive Director Awards, in its 12th year took place on Wednesday evening at the English Heritage-listed Claridge’s Ballroom in London’s Mayfair district. This prestigious event commends the valuable contribution and achievements of Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) within Business, Not-for-Profit and Public-Sector organisations.
A highly regarded leader, Malcolm motivates his business teams to understand the dynamics of strategy, aspirations of the leadership teams and ultimately sharing success. He also devotes his skills and time to local community projects and charities. Having spent over 40 years in industry including 25 years within the PLC arena, Malcolm has a deep understanding of what is required of a leadership team as well as a deep understanding of the requisite skills required in relation to marketing & communicating with the investment community both in the UK and overseas.
Since joining the Flowtech Fluidpower Group as Chairman on IPO in 2014, Malcolm has made a significant contribution to the Group. Under Malcolm’s guidance the Flowtech team has expanded the Group’s portfolio extensively across existing and new product categories; completed 13 acquisitions; delivered synergies across the organisation, established four clearly-focussed divisions; and introduced ‘profit sharing’ at local level to focus on ROCE growth. He has also been integral to successful fundraises from new and existing holders in March 2017 and more recently in March 2018.
Malcolm has also been fortunate in not only floating and managing a fully listed successful PLC (He was previously Managing Director of Trifast plc from 1984-2002), he has been able to broaden his experience through a succession of NED roles over the past 15 years with a wide variety of both privately-owned companies and PLC’s including Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC, Unicorn AIM VCT plc and Sytner Group PLC. Currently, in addition to holding the Chair at Flowtech Fluidpower, Malcolm plays an active role as Chairman at Trifast plc (stepped to NED in April 2017) and at discoverIE plc (formerly ACAL plc) (appointed NED in 2015 and Chairman in 2016).
