Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), one of the fastest-growing exchanges globally, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ADIB Securities, a leading Sharia-compliant brokerage and subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB). This strategic partnership will develop an integrated digital onboarding platform aimed at enhancing investor experience and accessibility.
The new platform will be integrated directly into ADIB Securities’ mobile app and digital ecosystem, simplifying the process of obtaining a National Investor Number (NIN) and opening investor trading accounts on ADX. Through the use of advanced financial APIs, it will provide a seamless, paperless onboarding experience, significantly reducing the need for manual document handling.
This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s broader digital transformation strategy. The new digital platform will empower individual investors with a secure and efficient method to access the growing range of investment opportunities on ADX. As of September 2024, ADX reported a 7% year-over-year increase in new individual investors, bringing the total investor base to 1.1 million. This surge demonstrates growing regional and international interest in Abu Dhabi’s capital markets.
ADX CEO Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “We are committed to strengthening investor access through digital innovation. Our collaboration with ADIB Securities will further streamline the investment process, allowing investors to engage with confidence and ease.”
ADIB’s Acting CEO, Mohamed Abdelbary, also highlighted the partnership’s significance: “This collaboration underscores our joint commitment to financial innovation, providing clients with more efficient and accessible tools for investing. As part of our ongoing digital transformation, we aim to make the investment process simpler and more secure for our customers.”
Both ADX and ADIB Securities continue to invest in digital infrastructure, ensuring that their platforms meet the evolving needs of investors. ADX has also partnered with global technology leaders like ICE Global Network to offer direct market access to institutional investors, further enhancing its position as a leading financial market.
